Bergslagen

High-rope
This is where the ore was mined, the iron flowed and Sweden´s wealth was forged. In the mining village of Pershyttan it´s all still here — six hundred years of iron production. While the village is an unmissable stopping off point for lovers of history and technology, plenty of people also come for the amazing countryside and the picturesque environment.

Land of Adventure

Today what was once the land of iron is a land of adventure for all the family. Children and Bergslagen might have been made for each other — a taste for adventure, a love of fun, close to nature and senses alive to new experiences. Explore the haunts of trolls and other mythical forest dwellers or try your hand at panning for gold. Besides fun and friendliness we´ve also got as much fresh air as anyone could ask for and wide open landscapes. If you enjoy fishing or paddling your own canoe, there are countless lakes and waterways to choose from. For a less strenuous adventure, how about travelling at a more leisurely pace behind a steam engine. Sweden´s first railway was built in Bergslagen and is still running to this day.

High-rope course

If the water and the railway aren´t enough, you could always reach for the skies on a high-rope course. Set yourself a challenge, find your own level of difficulty or just feel the wind in the treetops. Bergslagen is packed with opportunities. Just make sure you give yourself enough time to enjoy them all!
